Understand this Reddit video workflow
Reddit-hosted video commonly uses separate picture and audio streams. This tool is useful when a file downloaded from a raw video URL plays silently. Start with the post permalink so the extractor can inspect the media configuration and any audio it exposes, rather than requesting a detached picture stream.
Review the format label before choosing a file. “Video only” explicitly means no soundtrack. A combined option is available only when both streams can be accessed and the server has the optional merging capability. If no audio stream is exposed, the downloader cannot recreate the missing sound.
A Reddit post can also link to YouTube, Vimeo or another external host. That is a different source from Reddit-hosted video. The post’s thumbnail and discussion do not override the destination’s access rules. A removed video or restricted community cannot be recovered through a raw media link.
Use the direct post link
Open the individual Reddit post and copy Share → Copy link. Paste the post URL, confirm the video preview and compare the offered audio labels. Select a combined file where available, or use a clearly labelled video-only file if silence suits your authorized use.
On a mobile device, look in the browser’s Downloads list or Files app after the transfer. The preview is for identification; choose a labelled file option for the actual download. Save necessary caption text, creator credit and source context separately when your permitted use requires them.
Limits and common failures
A post that needs login, membership or private-account access is not handled by this public workflow. Removed media, source restrictions and temporary rate limits can also prevent extraction. Test the original public address before submitting repeated requests.
Download links are temporary and signed. If a saved link expires, process the original post again while it remains available. This site does not operate a permanent media archive.
