Download media from a public Instagram post
An Instagram post can be a single photograph, a video or a multi-item carousel. This page starts with the post’s direct link and asks for the media attached to that post. It is a useful starting point when you have an ordinary Instagram post URL and want to identify what is available before saving an authorized copy.
Open the individual post in Instagram first. Check the creator’s name, caption and whether the post contains several slides. A feed preview can crop an image or show only the first item, so it is not a reliable guide to the full post. The result here includes the available preview and descriptive metadata to help you match the requested media.
Post links and image addresses are different
A normal Instagram post URL often contains /p/POST_ID/. The post identifier belongs to a real public post. A profile address points to an account, while an image URL copied from a browser cache points to a temporary file location. Use Instagram’s own share link for the post instead of trying to reconstruct an internal image address.

What the result can contain
The extractor may return photos, playable video files, a caption and creator information. Image quality reflects the source Instagram exposes. Saving an available JPEG does not recover the original RAW photograph, editing layers, an uncompressed upload or details lost during platform processing. A displayed video resolution describes that returned format, not a guaranteed original camera resolution.
Posts with music, collaboration labels, product tags or other app features are not portable replicas of the Instagram interface. A downloaded image will not gain an audio track simply because music plays while you view the post. SaveFlow shows the formats returned for the media, and does not reconstruct comments, engagement counts or interactive controls.
Copy the post URL and choose a file
- Open the specific public Instagram post. If you arrived through a profile grid, select the post rather than copying the profile address.
- Use the sharing controls to choose Copy link. In a desktop browser, copy the address while the individual post is open.
- Paste the URL into this page and select Download.
- Review the creator, caption and preview. For a collection, check each returned item separately.
- Choose the appropriate file option and wait for your browser to complete the transfer.
On a phone, find the result in the browser’s Downloads list or the Files app. A file may not appear in Gallery until you import or move it. If the browser opens an image preview, use the browser’s save controls. Do not assume that a long press on a preview thumbnail downloads the highest available source file.
If you need a record of the caption for attribution, keep it separately with the downloaded media. Captions can change after publication, and their presence on this page is descriptive context rather than a license statement. Record the original post link as well when your project requires a traceable source.
Public post limitations
This tool cannot access private accounts, paid content or a post whose media requires authentication. A post may also be deleted, restricted by region or temporarily unavailable to anonymous requests. Test the original link without signing in before assuming a downloader error means the URL is malformed.
For a result with fewer items than expected, inspect the source carousel and use its dedicated tool. A public response may expose only part of a collection. For an expired download link, request the original post again; temporary server files are not stored as a permanent public archive.
An image of a person, a branded design or a photographer’s work can carry rights beyond the ability to view it publicly. Do not remove credits, republish a creator’s work as your own or use someone’s likeness in an advertisement without the required permission.
