Save the items in a public Instagram carousel

An Instagram carousel is one post containing multiple photos, videos, or a mixture of both. This tool uses the post’s direct link and checks for the individual media items Instagram exposes publicly. It is useful when an authorized project reference or your own post needs more than the single cover image shown in a feed.

The first image in a carousel is not the entire post. Before saving anything, open the original post and swipe through it to understand what it contains. A result may present several items with their own previews and file options. Review the order and media type of each returned item rather than assuming every thumbnail represents a complete album.

Accepted carousel links

Carousel links usually use Instagram’s post address shape, such as https://www.instagram.com/p/POST_ID/. Photos and single-video posts can use a similar address. The presence of /p/ does not, by itself, prove that a post has multiple slides. The source media response determines whether this tool can return a collection.

Copy the link for the post itself. An image CDN address copied from a browser’s developer tools may expire and does not carry the post context. A profile page can contain many carousels but does not identify the one you want. If a link opens a Reel, use the Reel tool for instructions tailored to a single Reel.

Mixed photos and videos

Each slide can have a different format and size. An image may be available as JPEG while a video slide has an MP4 option. A photograph does not have a video resolution, duration or audio track. Downloading a carousel does not create a slideshow video automatically. It also does not add Instagram’s navigation dots, swipe transitions, comments or interactive features to the files. The post caption applies to the source post; it is useful context but is not necessarily embedded inside each downloaded photo.

How to download carousel media

1. Open the public carousel in Instagram and confirm the account, caption and intended slides.
2. Use Share or the post’s menu to copy the post link. On desktop, open the individual post before copying the browser address.
3. Paste that link into this tool and wait for its result.
4. Review the returned items. Select a file option for each image or video you have permission to save.
5. After downloading, compare the saved files with the original post and keep any necessary caption or attribution separately.

The public response can be incomplete. Some items may be unavailable, unsupported or restricted even when the cover appears. This installation limits each extraction to a bounded set of items to avoid unbounded processing. For a longer carousel, do not interpret the visible result count as a promise that every slide has been retrieved.

Keep your browser’s downloads list open when saving several files. Files may receive separate names, and downloading them does not guarantee that a phone’s photo library will group them as an album. Organize your local copies only after each download finishes successfully.

Choose a suitable source quality for the intended use. Larger video files use more bandwidth and storage. SaveFlow does not enhance low-resolution images or recover editing layers, the original camera RAW file, or an upload before Instagram compressed it.
