Save a public Facebook video from its own page
A Facebook video link should identify one watchable video. This tool is intended for a video published publicly by a Page, creator or person who has made the item accessible without an account login. Use it to save your own material or a copy you are authorized to retain.
A video can appear inside a feed post, a Watch page or a shared message. The surrounding feed address is not always the video’s direct URL. Open the video before copying its link so the result can be matched to one source. The preview, title and uploader details are useful checks before starting a file download.
Common public video link shapes
Facebook may use a watch address with a video identifier, a Page’s video path or an fb.watch share link. A browser may redirect one form to another. The original share link can be submitted as copied, but if it fails, open the actual video and copy the address after the page finishes loading.
A group URL is not a video URL. A video visible only to members of a group, friends of an account or another limited audience is not publicly accessible just because you have its address. SaveFlow does not use a Facebook account or import your session to retrieve those files.
Video quality and audio
Facebook may expose different encodings of a video. A higher resolution can use significantly more data, while a smaller format may be sufficient for a phone reference. The source determines which options appear; SaveFlow cannot produce an original master file that Facebook does not provide.
Check labels carefully when a video-only format is offered. Separate video and audio streams may require merging, and a combined option appears only when the server supports that operation. A normal single-file video remains independent of that optional capability. Captions supplied as post text are displayed as metadata when available; they are not automatically burned into the picture.
Live broadcasts introduce another distinction. A currently live stream does not have a final duration or complete finished file and is not processed here. A finished public replay may become accessible later, depending on the owner’s settings and the media response. Do not treat a live page as a promise of a downloadable archive.
Copy and download the video
- Open the video itself on Facebook, rather than leaving it as a feed preview.
- Use Share and Copy link, or copy the video page’s address on desktop.
- Paste the public URL into this form and request its metadata.
- Check the preview, title and creator information.
- Select the available file that suits your device and let the browser finish downloading it.
If the copied text includes a message as well as a link, paste only the URL into the form. Do not add a username or password to the address. If a short sharing URL opens the wrong item, return to the original video and create a new direct link.
A long video can take more time to prepare than a short clip. Keep the tab open, watch the browser’s download indicator and ensure the device has enough storage. File sizes may be estimated until the source has been processed. The site’s configured size limit applies even to a video that is otherwise publicly accessible.

Choosing a video quality
If a provider returns several standard qualities, choose based on your actual need. Higher resolution usually means a larger file; the displayed size comes from the provider when available.
Troubleshoot without changing access controls
First check whether the original video still plays in a browser without signing in. Deletion, audience changes, regional limits and platform request throttling can all stop a previously working URL. If the video is not publicly available, SaveFlow cannot make it public or use your account permissions on the server.
An expired result link should be replaced by a fresh request for the source URL. A failed transfer can also result from a file that exceeds the site’s size limit. Choose a smaller offered format if appropriate; changing a filename or extension does not change the underlying size or encoding.
SaveFlow does not remove protection, collect account credentials or promise uninterrupted support when Facebook changes its responses. If a public file cannot be extracted, ask the owner for an authorized original or use the owner’s own download option where available.
