Understand this X video workflow
A video attached directly to an X post may have several source encodings. This page uses the post permalink to obtain the supported options and the surrounding author and caption information. A profile address or a link to a search timeline does not identify the video you want.
Video quality is limited to the variants exposed publicly. A larger resolution is not necessarily the original production file, and re-uploaded footage may already contain compression or overlays. The downloader does not create a clean master, remove credits or rebuild missing audio.
Quoted and reshared posts can contain more than one source. Verify the preview and original creator before saving. Keep the permalink when the clip’s meaning depends on a discussion, date or attribution that is not embedded in the downloaded file.
Use the direct post link
Open the post containing the video, copy its sharing link and paste the URL. Review the creator and thumbnail, choose a returned video format and confirm completion in the browser download list.
On a mobile device, look in the browser’s Downloads list or Files app after the transfer. The preview is for identification; choose a labelled file option for the actual download. Save necessary caption text, creator credit and source context separately when your permitted use requires them.
Limits and common failures
A post that needs login, membership or private-account access is not handled by this public workflow. Removed media, source restrictions and temporary rate limits can also prevent extraction. Test the original public address before submitting repeated requests.
Download links are temporary and signed. If a saved link expires, process the original post again while it remains available. This site does not operate a permanent media archive.
