Start with the creator and permission
A public TikTok video can be easy to share but still protected by rights in the video, music and other included material. Before downloading, confirm that you own the work, have suitable permission or have another lawful basis. Check whether TikTok or the creator already provides an appropriate save or original-file option.
SaveFlow’s TikTok tool checks a submitted public link for supported media. It does not open private accounts, require your credentials or promise to remove watermarks. A file that the platform provides is not a grant of permission to republish it.
Copy the direct link
Open the particular video and use Share, then Copy link when available. TikTok may create a short URL that redirects to the video page. On desktop, copy the address of the individual video, not the profile, sound page or search result. A profile can contain many videos and does not identify one intended download.
Paste the complete URL into the form. If the result does not match your intended video, return to TikTok and recopy it. Messages containing several links or commentary can make it easy to submit the wrong address. Inspect the creator and caption in addition to the preview.
Review the media type and format
A TikTok publication may be a video or a photo-based post. Supported output depends on what the platform actually returns for that item. Do not assume that every post produces an MP4 with sound or that every photo slide will be included.
Choose among the formats shown in the result. The source determines available quality. A downloaded platform copy may be recompressed, and an estimate of its size may differ from the final transfer. If a result is marked video-only, it has no audio track. Keep the browser open while the file is prepared.
Public links can still fail
Regional restrictions, a login requirement, removed media, request limits and changes in public responses can prevent extraction. Check the original link without an authenticated account. If it is private or restricted, obtain an authorized copy from the owner rather than attempting to defeat the restriction.
A temporary processing problem may clear after waiting. Repeatedly pressing Download does not repair an expired URL and can trigger rate limiting. See the common errors guide for a practical sequence of checks.
Keep context when using the file
Retain attribution and relevant license terms. A creator’s permission to save for personal reference may not include use in advertising, a compilation or a commercial project. Music permissions can be separate from permission to use the video itself. Avoid misleading edits or sharing sensitive information about people shown.
On a phone, look in the browser’s Downloads list or Files app. Saving a file to Photos or Gallery can require a separate step. Keep your own backup if the material matters to you; SaveFlow’s temporary file is not an archive. Read the responsible-use checklist before redistributing any saved media.
